North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institute is opening a 40,000-square-foot facility at Great South Bay to provide high-quality cancer care. The facility is scheduled to open in spring 2016.

The location on Main Street will deliver convenient access to other specialists and an array of support services in the community near Southside Hospital. North Shore-LIJ Health System’s connected emergency rooms, full-service hospitals and specialists of every kind are always accessible.

Services offered

The new facility will offer access to a full range of cancer and imaging services, including:

  • Medical oncology and chemotherapy treatments - Patients receive state-of-the-art chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapy treatments, including participation in the latest clinical trials.
  • Radiation medicine - The Department of Radiation Medicine location offers a wide range of innovative radiation therapy and brachytherapy services using state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Surgical oncology specialists – The surgical oncology team offers the latest minimally-invasive laparoscopic procedures and robotic-assisted techniques and is skilled in treating rare and complex tumors as well as more common malignancies.
  • Comprehensive imaging services - Conveniently located next door to the Cancer Institute is North Shore-LIJ Imaging at Bay Shore. With a full complement of diagnostic imaging equipment and an interventional radiology suite on the premises, patients can receive all needed tests in a coordinated, easy to access manner. North Shore-LIJ offers the largest subspecialized fellowship-trained group of radiologists on Long Island.
