Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital RN negotation
After 8 months of good-faith negotations, we are pleased to report that LIJ at Valley Stream and the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year collective bargaining agreement.
NYSNA’s membership must vote to ratify the contract for it to take effect. NYSNA will soon be communicating the specifics of the tentative agreement, conducting informational meetings with members and scheduling a ratification vote. LIJ at Valley Stream management will not disclose the details of the agreements until NYSNA has had the opportunity to communicate with its members.
We believe that the proposed new collective bargaining agreement is fair for our nurses, providing them with competitive wages and comprehenesive benefits. [hospital name] is confident that this agreement will ensure our continued commitment to patients and the community in delivering safe, quality care while managing the rapid, substantial and unprecedented changes in the helathcare industry now and projected over the next decade.
